I absolutely love to sew!  I learned this skill when I was in 8th grade at a time where Home Economics was still being taught, imagine that.  This class taught me all of the basics needed to get from pattern to finished product.  At the end of the year, I invited my family to school to show off my creations in a highly anticipated fashion show.  Though my projects were not perfect, I was proud of what was accomplished in such a small amount of time.

I did not touch a sewing machine again until I graduated from college and was gifted a machine.  I became a teacher and was very excited to get reacquainted with the art of sewing in order to create fun, useful items that I could use in my classroom.  I bought books and began learning the skills that had been taught long ago.  Once I got into the groove, I was able to make puppets, curtains and much more for my classroom environment.

Somewhere along the way this little hobby transformed into a full-blown passion.  I was constantly on the look out for new and exciting fabrics.  If there was a sale at the local fabric shop, I was there!  With my abundant stash of fabric, I began making presents for my friends and family.  It brought me great joy to see excitement on the faces of everyone who received something that I made.

In the fall of 2021, I decided it was time for me to leave education and start a new journey.  It didn’t take long for me to know what I wanted to do.  You guessed it….SEW!                I mentioned that I love to sew, right?  With the support of my husband and children, Chrissy In Stitches was born.
